MBABC Annual Conference 2026

British Columbia's flagship mortgage broker conference

Date
April 26-28, 2026 (TBC)
Location
Vancouver, BC
Organizer
Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia
Typical attendance
600+ BC mortgage professionals

The Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia (MBABC) Annual Conference is the flagship event for BC's mortgage brokering community. Held each spring — typically in late April or early May — the conference brings together licensed mortgage brokers, submortgage brokers, lenders, and industry suppliers from across British Columbia.

The MBABC is the provincial association representing BC's approximately 7,000 licensed mortgage professionals. Membership is not mandatory in BC, but the association plays an important role in regulatory advocacy with the BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) and provides continuing education programs that brokers rely on for license renewal.

The annual conference runs over two days and typically includes a full-day education program on day one, an awards gala on the evening of day one, and a half-day of breakout sessions or a trade show on day two. Sessions cover topics highly relevant to BC's unique market: condo lending in Vancouver, pre-sale financing, luxury property mortgages, agricultural properties, and the regulatory changes specific to BC.

BC's housing market is unlike any other province — Vancouver has among the highest property values in North America, significant demand from international buyers, complex strata rules, and an active leasehold property market. The conference programming reflects this: a session on foreign buyer mortgages or leasehold condo financing at MBABC draws far more interest than at a national conference.

Lender attendance is strong; all major monoline lenders and many credit unions with large BC books send BDMs and regional sales directors. The trade show component, typically running both afternoons, is an efficient way to connect with 30-50 lender and vendor booths in a single visit.

For BC brokers, attending the MBABC conference counts toward continuing education credits required by the BCFSA for annual license renewal. The association offers multi-year membership and early-bird conference rates.
