The CMP Women of Influence Awards is an annual recognition luncheon organized by Canadian Mortgage Professional magazine that spotlights women who are making a significant impact on the Canadian residential mortgage industry.

Launched in 2018, the event grew quickly into one of the most anticipated gatherings on the industry calendar. The format is an afternoon awards luncheon — typically held at a hotel ballroom in downtown Toronto — with 300 to 400 attendees drawn from brokerage, lending, insurance, real estate, legal, and technology sectors.

Honorees are selected across categories that reflect different dimensions of industry impact: Top Brokers, Rising Stars, Industry Leaders (senior executives at lenders or industry associations), Community Champions, and Educator of the Year. Nominations are open to the public and anyone in the industry can submit a nomination on behalf of a colleague.

For brokers and brokerage owners, the event offers a networking environment distinct from the larger industry conferences. The focused audience and afternoon format create a more intimate setting for conversations with lender partners, association executives, and regulatory contacts.

The awards also have growing marketing value. CMP publishes a dedicated Women of Influence digital issue and distributes it to its full subscriber list, so honorees receive significant coverage beyond the event itself.

Tickets and sponsorship packages are available through the CMP website. The event typically sells out within a few weeks of tickets going on sale in February.
