The Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association - Ontario (CMBA Ontario) runs its Annual Conference & Trade Show each spring, and it is the association's flagship gathering for Ontario brokers and agents. The 2026 edition ran on April 23 at the Universal Event Space in Vaughan, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Community Trust as title sponsor.

CMBA Ontario is the provincial member association of the national CMBA federation, which also has chapters in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Atlantic Canada. Its Ontario membership is weighted toward independent brokerages, private and alternative lenders, and mortgage administrators, which shapes a program that leans heavily on alternative lending, private capital, and FSRA compliance rather than bank-channel topics.

The 2026 program opened with registration, breakfast, and trade show time, followed by opening remarks from CMBA Ontario and Community Trust at 9:15 AM. Sessions included "The First Year Test: What the New Government Got Right (and Wrong)", a policy discussion with CTV News chief political correspondent Vassy Kapelos and Tanya Woods of Questrade; "Inside Canada's Economy: What Brokers Need to Know Now" with TD economist Derek Burleton; a lender panel on placing deals in a shifting market; and "What Makes a Mortgage Business Sellable" with Doug Adlam of Adlam Innovations. Toronto Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia delivered the closing keynote, with a book signing and prize draws at 3:15 PM.

Attendance earns three continuing education hours recognized toward Ontario licensing requirements, which is a significant part of the value for agents managing their annual CE obligations.

The trade show runs alongside the full program and is one of the better places in Ontario to meet alternative and private lender BDMs in one room. CMBA Ontario publishes an online trade show directory so attendees can plan which exhibitors to visit before arriving.

The conference is paired with the CMBA Ontario Gala & Awards Night, held the previous evening (April 22, 2026). Many attendees book both, and combined tickets are typically offered when registration opens in the late winter. Registration runs through the CMBA Ontario member portal, with member pricing well below the non-member rate.
