Ottawa Mortgage Fall Blueprint 2026

The Ottawa Mortgage Fall Blueprint is CMBA Ontario's fall education event for the National Capital Region, held September 16, 2026 at the Infinity Convention Centre on Gibford Drive, running 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

The format is deliberately unusual for an industry education day. Rather than a straight run of panels, the program is built around a live Family Feud-style competition hosted by Daren Sedore, with sponsor teams competing in game rounds between speaker sessions. The intent is to keep lender partners and brokers interacting through the day rather than splitting into the usual exhibitor-and-attendee dynamic.

The speaker lineup carries real substance. Rob Carrick, long the personal finance columnist at The Globe and Mail, speaks on how households are navigating affordability. Nicole Christy, CEO of the Ottawa Real Estate Board, covers local homeownership and resale trends, which matters for Ottawa brokers whose market moves on federal employment and relocation patterns rather than the Toronto and Vancouver cycle. James Robinson, VP at Equifax Canada, presents on the 2026 credit reporting changes, a session worth attending for any broker who does alternative or bruised-credit deals.

The day runs opening remarks at 9:30 AM, game rounds from 9:40 to 10:40, the affordability and homeownership sessions from 10:50 to 11:50, the Equifax credit landscape session at 1:30 PM, a final game round at 2:15 PM, and awards and closing remarks at 3:00 PM.

Pricing is $59 for CMBA Ontario members and $99 for non-members, which is low enough that the membership itself pays for part of the difference. Registration is handled through the CMBA Ontario member portal.

For Ottawa brokers, this is one of the few dedicated in-market industry days of the year. Most Ontario events cluster in the GTA, so the Ottawa program is the practical option for brokers who cannot justify a Toronto trip.
