The West End Symposium is CMBA Ontario's Southwestern Ontario event, held October 1, 2026 at the Delta Hotels Guelph Conference Centre on Stone Road West. It runs as a compact half day, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, which makes it realistic for brokers in Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, London, and Hamilton to attend without giving up a full working day.

The program opens with registration, breakfast, and an exhibitor showcase at 8:00 AM, followed by opening remarks from CMBA Ontario at 8:50 AM.

The first session is a Southwestern Ontario housing and economic outlook from Anthony Passarelli, lead economist at CMHC. Regional forecasting is the point here: the Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph markets have their own supply and employment dynamics, and brokers in these markets are usually working from GTA-centric coverage that does not reflect what they see in their own files.

At 9:30 AM there is a fireside chat between John Webster, CEO of WealthONE Bank of Canada, and Michelle Campbell, president of CMBA Ontario. Webster spent years running Scotia Mortgage Authority before moving to WealthONE, so the conversation tends to cover both bank-channel and challenger-bank perspectives on the broker channel.

After the coffee break and exhibitor time, Randy Binstock presents at 11:15 AM on identifying professional strengths within a mortgage practice, and James Robinson closes the program at 12:00 PM with a session on the 2026 credit report changes, the same Equifax material covered at the Ottawa event. Closing remarks are at 12:45 PM.

Registration runs through the CMBA Ontario member portal and opened August 31, 2026. Given the half-day format and regional draw, this event fills faster than the association's larger GTA programs.
